During time of extreme heat, home and business owners tend to crank up the A/C, often leading to overloads and power outages. It can also lead to your individual system not lasting as long and needing a/c repairs.
There are a few steps that can be taken to prevent this from happening, keep the utility bills down, and stay cool.
- Spray your outdoor A/C unit with a garden hose to cool it down and keep it running more efficiently.
- Have your A/C inspected and maintenanced each year to keep it clean and be sure everything is running properly.
- Raise your thermostat to 76-78 degrees when leaving home. If you forget, we offer WiFi thermostats to do so from your smartphone!
- Lower your thermostat at night to cool the whole house while the weather is cooler outside so it does not have to work as hard at night.
- Try not to cook in the oven and stove, use your outdoor grill if you have one to prevent extra heat inside your home.
